Best Practices
Cherokee Fire Protection Co. has played a proactive role in the development of Best Practices for the Fire Sprinkler Industry. Forest Wilson, President of Cherokee Fire Protection contributed to the Project Management series of the FSI-BP program as a member of the Panel.
Harold Garrison has been involved in developing and implementing Best Practices in Backflow Testing for several years, as a consultant to the water purveyors in Kentucky and as a classroom instructor.
Professional Affiliations
Cherokee Fire Protection Co. is a member of the National Fire Sprinkler Association, the oldest and largest fire sprinkler trade association in the country.
Field employees are members of the United Association of Sprinklerfitters and Pipefitters, Local 669.
Forest Wilson and Harold Garrison are actively involved with various Backflow Prevention Organizations and Associations.
Corporate Responsibility
- Environment Cherokee Fire Protection Co. is committed to performing all work in full compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations. We strive to improve this area of responsibilty by having a complete Environmental Policy and Procedure in place by the end of 2011, with third party verification of compliance.
- Employee Safety Cherokee Fire Protection Co. actively participates in the OSHA Small Business Consultation Program and State of Ohio Workers Compensation Consultation Program. With prior customer consent, we invite OSHA to view our employees at work, on the job. We have had 0 Lost Time Injuries for the past 5 years.
- Employee Benefits Cherokee Fire Protection Co. actively negotiates contracts with the union representing employees to ensure that all employees have adequate access to an appropriate level of pay, health insurance and pension plans.
- Community Involvement Since 2010, Forest Wilson helps raise money for burn survivors by running in a selected marthon. We also offer to perform certain services, at no charge, to selected organizations offering charitable services.
